Make the Most of Your Garage Walls!

When people want to reorganize their garage, one thing we often notice is they’re not taking full advantage of their wall space. At A Closet Gallery, one of our favorite organizers is the slatwall system- you install the system on a wall of your garage, and use custom bins, hooks, and racks to hold all of your items. You basically get a custom set up in your garage, tailored to fit your needs. This week, we’re reviewing some of our favorite uses for slatwall systems to keep your garage clean and great looking while storing everything you need.

Nets

These are so useful for the active families. The net attaches to the slatwall and is perfect for holding the sports balls. Families often buy boxes that take up a lot of space to store the basketballs, footballs, and soccer balls, but this net keeps them neatly stored against the wall, where you can reach them and where they won’t take up floor space.

Bicycle Rack

Bikes take up a lot of space in people’s garages if they aren’t stored correctly. They fall, they turn while being stored, they can even scratch cars. These bike racks hook into the slatwall and keep the sitting straight and keeps it from falling. We even like to add a small basket behind it where you can store your helmet, water bottle, lock, and key right next to it.

Fishing Rod Holder

This is such a cool one to us! Fishing rods end up being a struggle to store with their shape.The fishing rod holder keeps the rods upright and neat. When it’s time to go fishing, you can grab these and leave! The simplicity of these is perfect for the fisherman in your family.

Screwdriver Rack

This is a simple little accessory that can save tons of stress! Attach this into the garage slatwall system and and keep a few of your most commonly used screwdrivers in it. Next time you need to fix your child’s toy, a tv, or something on the car, you’ll thank us. Save the time of looking through the toolboxes for the right screwdriver size. They’ll be ready!

Tennis Rack

This is another piece that we love for the sports fan of the family. When you need to store tennis balls, lots of people keep boxes around for them, and the rackets end up with no neat place to sit. If you store them in a box, they may bend, if you leave them in a corner, they won’t be clean when it’s time to play! Attach this piece, and the tennis rackets will be stored neatly upright and the balls will be sitting right next to them for convenience.
